Well, my copy of Iain Dale's Guide To Political Blogging In The UK arrived in the post today, where I was able to find out who had been voted to where in the Top 500 UK Bloggers list.
I was also able to read Ciaran Jenkins' (aka Blamerbell Briefs) curious interesting view of the Welsh blogosphere and some of its blogs. Apparently I "ooze nerdiness" and there's something about "edgy nationalism" and whereas most people thought that my little fisk of Adam Price regarding Spanish politics to some extent might have got under the MP's skin, according to CJ it was tantamount to an "online battle" between me and the "political big boy". Actually I kind of recall it as being a minor footnote within a friendly debate between Adam Price and Normal Mouth concerning the supposed mutually socialist origins of Plaid Cymru and Labour. But there you go.
Anyhoo, here's a list of the Welsh blogs that made it into the top 500, as voted by other bloggers. This should be an interesting and more democratic alternative to the Top 20 Welsh Blogs list. The number in brackets indicates a blog's position in the Top 500.

Top Thirty: PC 13 CON 5 LAB 5 MED 5 LD 1 NA 1

5 opinions:
Its always difficult to get a consesus on stuff like this but I must say it is shocking that some are in. Half of them post very irregularly(tiger tales, live from the socialist fortress, huw lewis)....some (view for a glen, cascittuni) no longer even exist!
Still i guess thats the world of blogs....always changing
True, blogs come and go rapidly.
A top 100 placing. Congratulations.
IMO Vaughan Roderick's blog is far and away the best blog in Wales. Why isn't it higher, presumably because it's in Welsh. Now this seems unfair. Either Roderick's blog should be excluded because it's not in English or it should be treated on merit.
No doubt people will say that it's all a matter of opinion anyway but really, I'm sure even Ord and Betsan Powys would admit that their blogs are way behind Vaughan's.

Er, no I wouldn't actually. It all depends what you're looking for in a blog, to which there is no objective answer. Ive already expressed my high opinion of Vaughan's blog, but considering the linguistically Anglocentric nature and circumstances of this Top 500 list, I think Vaughan has done extremely well.
